Babby, I understand your frustration. If I let it, my anger over this would consume me every day. Deep down I know this negativity would not be good for my bone health or my overall health.
All we can do is the best we can do every day with the cards we’ve been dealt.
If you do nothing after stopping prolia the chances are high that you will have a rebound fracture. That’s why there is a black box warning on this drug. The risk is real, and it’s painful.
Do what needs to be done to avoid the fractures.
Here’s what I’ve realized over the last 7 years I’ve been living in this osteoporosis drug nightmare- once you start any of these drugs you will need to be on them the rest of your life, except for the occasional “drug holiday” if you are lucky.
If I had it to do over again, I would not have started any drug until much later in life. I was only 59 when I was given prolia as my first treatment. Also, I would have started hormone replacement therapy early in menopause. I believe all my issues would have been negated if I had been given that option.
I know you are angry by all this, so many of us are, it’s hard, but we have to try and move forward using the knowledge from places like this group and our own research and take back control of our health decisions.
Please let us know how you are doing. We are here to hold each other up.
All the Drs. I saw (South Florida) scared the daylights out of me if I did not go one Prolia- Iwas on it January of 24 and had horrible side effects with no concern from my Dr. Was only on it for 6 months- I am now on actonel 35 mg . once a week and have some gastro issues and trouble swallowing bulky food. I have to go for a barium swallowing test to see what is going on. I am very fit - exercise tremendously and have some osteoporosis- not horrible readings- however I had endometrial cancer in 2017 and I really believe the chemo attacked my bones.
