I had extraordinary thigh pain for months and thought it was my hip. It turned out it was a serious spine problem. My pain sensors just sent the wrong signal.

@marthadean Pain can be felt anywhere along the path of a nerve so it is true that you could have spine generated pain from a compressed spinal nerve root and feel the pain in your leg. It is also true that you can have more than one source for pain in a particular nerve and doctors have to figure that out before they do a corrective procedure.
