What types of specialists are you working with (ENT, dentist, neurologist)? How was your trigeminal neuralgia diagnosed? Was your MRI of your head only (did you get a MRI of your cervical spine)? Did you have a recent viral infection? Certain viruses can live forever in your nervous system and it may be good to get testing for viruses like EBV, shingles, herpes, Covid, etc.). If there is a viral cause to triggers of your Trigeminal neuralgia, you could be prescribed valacyclovir or a similar antiviral medication to manage symptoms and reduce activation of dormant viruses.

No and thank you I didn't receive any test about viruses. I seen a neurologist at University of Michigan she just done the mri of the right trigeminal nerve. I should have gave a in depth of what went on. In November I had about 4 or 5 episodes that would last up to 4 hours of these electrical shocks I changed eating habits put in supplements started wearing a mouthguard and they stopped from December 2nd till January 14th. December 1st i went to u of m e.r. and they diagnosed me along with a dentist i found weeks before. The U of M prescribed me 2 weeks of carbamazepine, i didn't take them because i didn't want to start and not have more. January 14th I finally got a primary doctor she told me to start it because I was to see my neurologist January 20th. Shocks came back January 15th and I ended up stopping the medication on Jan 27th noticed a rash starting. Then had no shocks till February 24th and that's when they were from 3pm till 11pm and I started taking oxcarbazepine at 5pm that night since then no shocks once again. I had the mri February 20th of the right trigeminal nerve and the shocks come in 2 teeth on my upper right side. Nothing was seen so I don't know and I was in pretty good health besides what felt like a gum infection right before this.
