Our current MO, doesn't see a problem, but he's woefully out of date on EVERYthing. To be fair, he treats all types of cancers, and is overworked. For instance, when my partner was starting ADT, he was insisting on Orgovyx, but the doc was giving him an eye roll and saying it's just the same as Lupron, what's the big deal. The doc agreed to look into it, and came back agreeing it was a much better option, and now Orgovyx is the standard of care at this cancer center, my partner being the FIRST there ever prescribed it. We're making an appointment today with an another MO that specializes in genitourinary cancers.

Excellent decision - you should NOT be required to know more than your specialist!!

The oncologist that specialize in prostate cancer are Genito Urinary Oncologists. They are not usually referred to as medical oncologists since they only work In one area of the body.

Hopefully this person you are going to be seeing is a GU oncologist.
