What is the best supplement to take for feet neuropathy?

I have tried adding Vitamin K2 and B-complex but have not noticed any difference after 2months.

Welcome @cdukes001, I think the answer to your question has a lot of dependencies with probably the biggest one being what is diagnosed as being the cause of your neuropathy but that's just my non-medical opinion. I do take daily supplements and shared my neuropathy journey in another discussion along with other members here - https://connect.mayoclinic.org/comment/310341/. There are also many different discussions and member comments on various different supplements - https://connect.mayoclinic.org/search/discussions/?search=Supplements%20for%20neuropathy.

Here are 2 of the discussions that are listed in the link above that you might want to scan through to learn what others have shared:

-- Supplements - What helps nerve pain and/or neuropathy?

Also, the Foundation for Peripheral Neuropathy has a list of supplements that are known to help with neuropathy symptoms at the end of the document here - https://www.foundationforpn.org/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Complementary-and-Alternative-Treatments.pdf

Can you share a little more about your neuropathy diagnosis and symptoms?

Gavapentin was prescribed to me by my oncologist. It worked well; it only made me sleepy so I took it at night, which is a good thing since that was when I was suffering the most from my neuropathy.

I am on Gpl-1 and will check with my Dr. Thanks for replying.

My doctor suggested that I start taking alpha lipoic acid, along with all the other supplements and medications that I've been taking for several years, and I think it has helped to lessen my nerve pain.

It might help, I take it twice a day because I read it was suppose to help but I would take anything at this point in my life if I thought it would help.
Even my doctor told me they had nothing that would stop neuropathy.
A lot of scams out there believe me I know.

During my research of what to take for my polyneuropathy I learned from Dr Emily Splichal’s book Barefoot Strong that it has to be R-ALA instead of regular ALA (alpha-lipoic acid): “Touted as one of the most powerful anti-oxidants, alpha-lipoic acid has been shown to improve microcirculation to peripheral nerves while decreasing oxidative stress. A key point about alpha-lipoic acid is that it must be taken in the R-lipoic acid form as the “R” form is the one that is biologically active (vs. “S” form).”

Luneusa.com offers a Nerve Matrix™ Nerve Pain Supplement: https://www.luneusa.com/products/nerve-matrix-nerve-pain-supplement?variant=42900593049800 that includes the R-ALA. Haven't tried it yet, but I have been using their Nerve Balm™ Neuropathy Cream: https://www.luneusa.com/products/nerve-balm?variant=42622543691976 which feels very good on the feet.

I am taking 3-times a day 200mg Gabapentin. Recently went for a short while to 3-times 100mg and my feet did not like it at all. Terrible at night. Went back to the 200mg but at the same time restarted core strengthening exercises which seem to be very helpful (in my case). Hard to say which one helps more, the medication or the exercise.

I always use "in my case" because i don't think there are guidelines/recommendations that work for everybody. Every case is so different!

My husband has tried all the normal meds; gabapentin, pregabaline, etc. He just started Amitriplyline and alpha lipoic acid. Hope they help. Have they helped for you??

I've been taking 1200mg a day for a few weeks now, and it was a very gradual lessening of the pain.
It's worth trying.

His doctor prescribed 600mg. Is there a point where too much is too much? I'll have to look that up. What other supplements are you taking. All the reading I have been doing, I have pages of different supplements. LOL.
