My specialist put me on a ppi 40 mg twice daily, sucralfate liquid 20 ml 1 hr before meals and at bedtime and baclofen 5 mg 3 times during day and bedtime. I first took pantapazole ppi but got swollen ankles and feet. Changed to Prilosec OTC got nasal drainage and annoying cough. Now taking the ppi Nexium OTC two 20 mg twice daily plus the sucralfate and baclofen. In reading about Reflux and Barrett’s I have added Premier Research Labs Phylo Methylate 2 daily which is activated B vitamins, folate (5-MTHF) and Choline and vitamin D’3. I read several articles about the things that can help Barrett’s and that’s what I added with Doctors approval. I also follow all the guidelines online about eating and when and how much. I only drink water. My doctors agrees with my adding. I stopped sleeping on right side as that makes reflux worse. I ordered the triangle wedge pillow to raise upper body when I sleep. You might need some additional medical guidance. I had no metal Kasia with the Barrett’s. My specialist retired. I was diagnosed in Oct 2024. Took two months of medication to help my burning mouth. During the day if I get burning I chew a pepsid complete which relieves burning pretty quickly no more than twice daily taking pepsid complete. First 30 days after esophagus scope and reflux and Barrett’s scope I only ate soft foods and soup broths which felt the best going down my esophagus. I also was diagnosed with gastritis w hyperplasia during esophagus scope. I don’t think your doctor is doing enough for your Barrett’s. I also read on line that Barrett’s is treated with high dose ppi of 40 mg twice daily. Read about it and talk to your doctor. Its a long term treatment lifestyle. I did read about one doctor who did not use ppi in her treatment for a patient with bone loss because poi’s have side effects like that. That Dr proscribed higher doses of pepsid complete 3 times daily and at bedtime. I am not recommending a treatment for you. I am only telling you what my doctor prescribed and what I read about that is suppose to treat Barrett’s with goal of healing Barrett’s if at all possible.

Read about Barrett’s and reflux treatments on line.
