Freestyle Libre 3+ sensor

My readings on the sensor seemed to be about 30 to 40 points less than what a forearm test is with a glucose monitor. Is that normal or do I have it in a bad place?

The Libre 3+ gets its info from interstitial fluid, not your blood. It is generally a little behind the finger stick reading. Just throw this into your dosing amounts. I usually go by what the Libre says but if very high or low I double check with a finger stick.

I have always had high readings since being diagnosed over 30 years ago. It just does not make sense that it is now running low constantly. That was why I initially posted it to see if this is normal. It almost seems like the readings will go down when I am sitting or in particular over night while I am sleeping. The alarm is very loud and seems almost useless since the readings are always 30-40 points higher. I figured out how to stop the alarms with the exception of when it goes under 60. My point being is that a 59 reading is really a 89-99 reading on a monitor. I was just trying to see if this is a normal thing and if there was any options to make it better. I am do to go for blood work this Friday and then get the results next Friday. I want to see if the results are in line with the CGM. According to it my A1C should be 6.1

For me cgm results are a lot of trial and error. I had to really work at figuring out why I got such wild differences in my cgm and fingerstick. For me, it was placement location. I ran 100 points off easy. However, when I switched to arm placement, it rarely happened. I still have a love/hate relationship with my cgm though……but, when it’s good, it’s good. Most of the time very close to fingerstick. I’d join the online diabetes community and gain all the tips from those who are doing this around the world. Apparently, some devices work better for some people than others. Have you considered pump treatment? I realize you are type 2.

Well, my bigger issue with the whole process is an anxiety issue with needles. It took a lot for me to start using the Libre in the first place. It has helped me a lot with seeing the ebbs and flows of my levels. I guess it could be that I have finally gotten my levels down enough that maybe I need to cut back on the dose of Monjaro that I am taking. My meter is just sounding the alarm most every night now for low readings that are not really low. I guess I will just have to wait and see how close the blood work is to the readings that I am getting now. I was just curious to see if anyone else was having the same issues with their readings.

Do not know much about your device, but common sense dictates that such differences are not acceptable. You may want to compare readings with a blood test.

I find with the sensor varies with the finger prick method. Sometimes the finger prick would show me low while the finger prick method showed that I was not.

Well, I got my blood work back and my A1C was 6.5 compared to the Libre app showing me at 6.3 so overall I guess it is right more than not.... I still plan on talking to my provider about it. I do for that visit tomorrow night. Thanks for everyone's feedback.
