Yearsafter radical prostatectomy: How to get and maintain an erection?

Posted by brownmich @brownmich, Feb 16 10:33pm

I was a widow before my prostatectomy.I haven’t pursued a romantic relationship since my surgery.I would like to communicate with a guy who like myself has had a radical prostatectomy and who didn’t immediately take medication to help get and maintain an erection after his surgery.
I am hoping to get advise and direction on what method and procedure I should use in order to explore the possibility of getting and maintaining an erection thirteen years after my surgery.

There is always TriMix, an injectable medication that works pretty well for most men. Adjusting the dosage through experimentation is normal. It's injected into the side of the penis near the base. There's a short lived little sting if you can handle injecting it to your penis. Needles are very small. Then, there is various types or configurations of a penis pump. It's a tube that fits over your penis, it has a constricting band that you place over the end of the tube. You pump a handle that pulls a vacuum inside the tube. The vacuum causes blood to gorge your penis with blood. After your penis is the size and stiffness that you want, you slide the band off the tube and around your penis. It traps the blood in your penis to maintain an erection. Sometimes it can be quite uncomfortable but it normally works to maintain an erection for sex.
There are other methods but other than pills that may or may not work, these are the two best tools to do what you need.
Good luck.

You can get an Implant that allows you to get an erection. It is reported that Almost everybody that gets these implants is really satisfied with the results.

I had surgery at 49 yrs old (turning 80 this year) and I am impotent. I tried pump, pill, and tri mix, with only marginal success. After three years I had the AMS 700 implant and have experienced successful erections. In addition Mayo provided important counseling from an expert in male sexual dysfunction. If I were to do it again, knowing what I know now I would go for the implant rather than the less invasive treatments.
