Hi Frouke,
I'm in a similar situation that you are. I've lived in a mobile home park for 30 years and like you said, in the last 10 years or so, it has declined a lot. It was a nice 55 plus mobile home park when my husband and I first moved in here. Everyone kept up their yards and flower gardens. It looked so nice! Now there is a new owner and it's no longer a 55 plus park. Younger people live here now and don't care what things look like. Since my husband died in July, I can't afford to move so I'm just keeping my place as neat as I can and ignoring the rest of the mess. Also the space rent increased! It's now $1100 per month just for the land that my mobile home is on! I own the mobile home. That amount is considered reasonable considering that most rents around here in Edmonds, Washington which is 15 miles north of Seattle start at $2500 and go up! At least Edmonds is a safe area. Seattle's terrible crime and murder rate hasn't gotten here yet. Also the police here arrest the bad guys. They don't in Seattle any longer. It's awful what seniors have to face in today's world just to survive! If you aren't rich, and I'm not, you have a real problem. I'm praying constantly about my situation and I'll pray about yours also. God is there for us and always has been.

I agree with you about Edmonds being a very nice community, with their own city government, police and fire departments. I drove a truck for Office Max delivering furniture, paper, and other office supplies for almost 17 years, and Edmonds was in my delivery area. I was in downtown Edmonds almost every day of the week, and it was always clean and well kept.
Anywhere in Seattle's King County it's a different story, you wouldn't want to live down there. Traffic, crime, homelessness, graffiti, etc.
My wife and I live north of there in Mt. Vernon, Wa. It's a lot more rural up here, with fewer people, less crime, and lots of open farm land.
