Thanks Phil , I have 13 more days. Of radiation 6 1/2 weeks total, also getting pain in ankle and knee joints another side effects, this crap is draining my strength, then another hormone shot when radiation is done , I’m tempted to skip the sect shot since it stays in your system for 3 months, , despite this cancer is curable you wouldn’t know it , screws your life for a year or more

The way to make sure your cancer becomes a chronic problem not a fatal disease is by following the guidelines laid out for what works the best. Not taking the hormone shot could result in your cancer metastasizing much sooner than it would normally.

Have you had a decipher test to see how aggressive your cancer is and how soon metastasis could start developing. If you would have a really low number in the decipher score, then maybe dropping the hormone shot would make sense. If you’ve got a Gleason score above 3+4 It also could be a problem in the near future.

It is really strange that the radiation is affecting you so much. I also had about seven weeks, But I never noticed anything as a result. The most other people complained about when I was getting it was fatigue. Have you asked the RO why you’re having these side effect?
