myP1NP was drawn at lab corp and I just got my results which I don't understand.

there is a line that lookd like 10.4__________97.8 ^ _.
ng/ml
the 715 s above the line right after 97.8

Hi @zygote I looked it up, for labcorp the reference range of p1np for post menopausal women is 10.4 -97.8 ng/ml. So your reading is 715. This is a HUGE response, which month are you at? What's your CTX reading?
@zygote, that reading does seem confusing. I haven't seen a P1NP that high even in the clinical trials. There might have been a mistake in transcription if you were looking at one of those patient mycharts.
Your print out from labcorp should look like: https://files.labcorp.com/testmenu-d8/sample_reports/140850.pdf
Your report makes sense.
I see my endo next week, so I hope he can figure out my report. I printed it directly from the labcorp site.
they also had remark " Result Notes: Propeptide Type I Collagen **Results verified by repeat testing**
I'm on month 8 of tymlos on 70 mcg. My heart still speeds up and thumps when I take it. No CTX ordered.
i hope your endocrinologist orders a redraw. You might ask for a CTX at the same draw.
I know that the sample requires special handling. I wonder if labcorp did testing because of the results.
I would call the doctor's office and request the order, so maybe you could have new results for the appointimet. I'd also go to Quest this time.
But my new years resolution every year is to be more aggressive.
I had also been thinking a repeat blood draw was in order. In addition, I would avoid all supplements for at least 24 hrs before the draw.
I fasted for 12 hours before the draw and don't take supplements...
My endo could not get the order into quest. There is some rigamarole about the codes and then it comes up as " Ordering Restrictions may apply. Please provide SERVICE AREA INFORMATION to find available tests you can order. Not offered in Quest Diagnostics Nichols Institute (IFD) – San Juan Capistrano. Click here to show test information for Service Area California/Nevada"
My Vitamin D,25-OH was low at 15 (optimal>30) So I assume he will put me back on calcitriol. I found 1 report by OncohemaKey.com on "markers of bone turnover in Bone mets from prostate cancer" that says Vit D deficiency is one of several things that can cause high bone turnover. It's the only article I could find for high p1np (I don't have prostate cancer)
zygote, at least there aren't million possibilities to worry over while you wait for retesting. There are two: bone mets and Castlemens. I'm voting for a missing decimal point.
