Colon cancer and treatment.
Just a question has anyone heard of the drug penben is the short version? I have not looked it up but heard it is a treatment that can be used for cancer. My son told me about it and I am curious if anyone knows anything about it. I will have to look it up myself but starting here. We are waiting on the pathologist's report but possible cancer in the lower colon. My son is the one affected by this. We are ok but told him we will fight this and use whatever we need to to get him over this.

I would ask for genetic or genomic testing to determine the type of cell you are dealing with. I would also ask about Pembrolizumab or the genetic name Keytruda which is a immunotherapy treatment for colon cancer. My husband has been on it for 3 years for stage 4 colon cancer metastasized to his liver and other areas. However, it's really important to know what type of colon cancer he has so demand a genomic test done.
I know it's confusing at this point what is available for treatment but keep in mind, you need to do your research and ask for the treatment you feel is best. They tend to offer the standard treatment they know about or are comfortable offering. Immunotherapy is a newer approach and effective. Good luck and be your son's advocate.
Oh, also put him on a complete vitamins programs such as NAC for his liver while on treatment, D3, Spirulina for his hemoglobin etc. It's extremely imortant while on any treatment.
Do you mean fenben? Check out Dr. John Campbell on YouTube. He has a couple of researchers on talking about off label research for cancer.
