It sounds like you may have a nerve or blood vessel compression. You may want to see your knee surgeon to discuss your symptoms. It may also be good to see a neurologist for EMG/nerve conduction study of your lower limbs to see what f there is any nerve injury.
If I were you I would definitely contact my Dr to get it checked out. Especially if you're a Diabetic. Nerve pain can be bad. I have been waiting to get a knee replacement done for quite sometime now. Due to new health issues I am having to wait. Best of health to you!!
Im sorry movielover - I've had both knees replaced but did not experience what you are going through.
As others suggested, you can start with your knee surgeon. There is another, relatively new type of Dr associated with orthopedics - Dr. of Physical Medicine. These Drs are sometimes called Sports Drs. They are much better equipped to deal with complaints such as yours than a PCP and maybe even your knee surgeon.
Rather than give advice without knowing more, that is my suggestion.
One question - how was your recovery from knee replacement overall?
Please be well.

I had and have something g like that. I am 6 years out from waking up after lumbar surgery with a feeling like somebody stuck a screwdriver in the top of my foot. My awesome orthopedic surgeon virtually ignored the complaint. After a couple years, I got used to it and it goes away and then comes back. I’m not sure if it is nerves that were crushed being woken to a dysfunctional existence after the surgery, whether it is the area that was numb before surgery, trying to regrow after surgery, whether it’s arthritis, whether it is the IT band that runs along the outside of my leg down through my shin to my ankle to the top of my foot being tight. I find those EMT tests are painful so I don’t do those anymore and they didn’t seem to do more than just validate that I was having a pain. I definitely think you should find a good physical therapy program and a good sports medicine doctor theologist and have them evaluate you. Observe if it’s worse under different types of weather and observe, if different kinds of medication’s help or don’t do anything. It is possible you will have to revisit your orthopedic surgeons office as a starting place to have him rule out that there’s no additional work needing to be done on your knee. Good luck I know it’s annoying.
