Hello, it is nice to finally find another person from Houston on this site. I too have searched for doctors with osteoporosis specialty to no avail. The site you mention does list 4 docs and 1 PA. Two are OB/gyn, Dr. Gagel has retired and Christina Yazdani with UT is a PA. I thought I might call her practice tomorrow.
I am currently seeing a Rheumatologist.
I have been on Prolia for 5 years. I took a break from Prolia for 3 months in Sept. due to dental implant, experienced an L-1 fracture a few days before I went back on Prolia. In my conversation w my Rheumotologist questioning fracture risk, and if I sh go off Prolia, she gave me an Evenity brochure and recommended a year of Evenity followed by Reclast for 3-6 years to buy me some time. I’ve had success and no side effects (except for elevated cholesterol) on Prolia and she thinks it’s a good fit for me. I am feeling uncertain with next step.
I would like an to understand and receive research based advice to help me with this next step. Meanwhile I am watching all the YouTube’s recommended on this site and those offered thru the Boston group.
Stay in touch and good luck.
I went to the Bone Health and Osteoporosis website. For Houston, it lists one provider: Obstetrical & Gynecological Associates, PA. Leroy Leeds. I wonder if you went to a different website.
