@debbiejp We aren’t medical professionals here on Mayo Clinic Connect so I cannot answer your question about cauterization. In fact, since you are a retired RN which I read in your profile then I’m thinking you are very knowledgeable. Since the bleeding has stopped then that’s a good thing. If it starts again especially over the weekend I would call your doctor and speak with the doctor on call or go to your ED. Just as you wrote. I’d do the same.

Thank you so much for your input. I took a second vitamin K tab at midnight and the bleeding stopped between 3 and 7 am this morning. It has not begun again today. I did speak with the office nurse and related the info to her. At this point I can only wait for the biopsy results that will indicate the next steps forward. I am feeling releaved about the bleeding but alone in this fight so far. I resist telling anyone until I know for sure what comes next so this loneliness is my own doing. Just don’t want to worry anyone til I know something. Thank you so much for reaching out. I appreciate the contact very much. Are you a patient also?
