Hip pain

Well I've been in more than usual pain and 2weeks ago I went to the er n was transferred to a trauma hospital and the drained fluid from the hip,with no real relieve and my leg is unusually smaller than my good leg seems like it's starting to atrify, any ideas, go for mri monday

drfenwick, does the leg seem shorter or less muscular; is the pain with movement or constant; why did they drain the fluid was it from the bursa or within the joint.
The MRI will give us better clues. Will they image the entire lumbar spine. I'm sorry you are in pain.

It would be good to see what an MRI of your lumbar spine and hips would show. You may have compressed nerves and/or blood vessels. A neurologist can do an EMG/nerve conduction study of your lower limbs to see if you have injured nerves.

Did you have an accident? How long have you been dealing with this?
