I’m a retired RN and worked in cancer nursing for 20 years. I took vitamin K 5mg tab last night and did not take the Xarelto 20mg I normally take. This morning the bleeding has stopped and I have contacted my doctor.. plan to take it easy today. If the bleeding returns, I’ll either go to my doctor or present in the ER. Can this be resolved with cauterization?

@debbiejp We aren’t medical professionals here on Mayo Clinic Connect so I cannot answer your question about cauterization. In fact, since you are a retired RN which I read in your profile then I’m thinking you are very knowledgeable. Since the bleeding has stopped then that’s a good thing. If it starts again especially over the weekend I would call your doctor and speak with the doctor on call or go to your ED. Just as you wrote. I’d do the same.
