Anyone tried using red light therapy?

Posted by domokane @domokane, Jul 29, 2023

There seems to be some evidence that photobiomodulation - heating the skin via infra red light - has some benefits for stimulating nerve re growth. There are lots of devices available on Amazon as well as lots of seemingly expensive treatments provided by chiropractors.

I would be interested to know of any personal experience with such devices and any possible recommendations.

Hi. Starting and going slow is suppose to be the way to start..your system could have been overwhelmed.. were you in one that is designed like a tanning bed.. bottom and top comes down over you.. do you know what strength lights you had etc etc …depending on light strength probably start at 5 min max.. and work up very slowly… If it was in a place that does this and charges ..they should have talked with you about this..

First time in a sauna? Be sure you drink plenty of Coconut Water which has adequate minerals before you get in. Only stay 5 to 7 min the first time. Increase by 3-4 min each time u get into the infrared sauna well hydrated. My blood pressure fell a lot when I got out of one the first time bc I wasn’t well hydrated with
water and minerals.

There are no documented studies that suggest that red light therapy is good for neuropathy. It is a scam, very expensive equals no results
Have you heard about the new Sanexas therapy for neuropathy?

I did a lot of research on red light therapy, as it concerns its benefits, and one thing that kept popping up is to make sure your product is a medical grade product. Meaning, it did not come from overseas but from a reputable manufacturer. I chose a product called MyChondria. Just about every product on Amazon was an over seas product and definitely not medical grade. NO i am not being paid by MyChondria for any of these statements. My experience with using the product every day for 15 minutes with 1 minute per 30 degree positions in full body exposure are the following. The benefits i have felt are skin elasticity tightened, joint warmth relief, sinus cavity swelling significantly reduced, stretching improved and many others. They claim that this treatment helps grow hair but i am not that sure about that. Any way, the most important thing i can say about anyone that want to pursue redlight therapy, do your research and spend the extra $$ to get a medical grade product (one that you see the medical industry use at there offices where they use red light treatment)

I have used a medical grade red light box for over a year now. My trigeminal neuralgia is better. My acne flares have been reduced. I have other variables in my life for pain reduction (diet, exercise, good doctors and understanding husband and Mayo Clinic prescriptions).I also get near-muscular massages twice a month. I am scheduled for nerve ablation in my lower back, also, However I believe the red light has made a difference. My red light box was over three hundred dollars. I would buy the light again.

I saw my chiropractor today for advice on various issues and I asked him about the red light therapy. He said it is worthless. So, to each his own always, but so far I am not seeing any scientific evidence that it helps.

Not sure if it was / is the same things but the place where physical therapy asked me if I was interested in participating in a trial with a laser technology. Was not covered by insurance but I signed up for six (6) sessions. Could not notice any difference so I discontinued the treatments.

Hello
I agree that the laser technology is a waste of money, There is no cure for this dreadful condition, as I have looked high and low for years

You're not looking in the right places. I have at least 14 articles, most published in peer-reviewed journals, examining the effectiveness of RLT. It has been helpful for me in addressing fatigue, but only for short periods of time. Anything that helps is welcome.
