When I was diagnosed with Gleason 9 T3a by a urologist/surgeon at The Fred Hutch Cancer Center at UW in Seattle, I was also referred to both a radiation and a GU oncologist to discuss treatment options, side effects and prognosis for each combination of therapies. I still feel that, along with gaining a solid understanding NCCN Guidelines (Google it) prior to meeting with each one, this approach laid a solid foundation for formulating my decisions.
