New Osteoporosis Diagnosis

I too was diagnosed with osteoporosis but I do not want to take the drugs. Instead I would like to try diet and exercise. The exercise part is easy but can anyone recommend someone who can provide counsel for the diet part. So many foods that are high in calcium are also high in oxalates or phytates which reduce the ability to absorb calcium. How do you get enough calcium without eating only dairy?

Hi @ljb622 other than dairy, you can consider the following food which have high calcium contents: tofu or edamame, canned bone-in sardines or anchovies, dark leafy greens with low oxalate such as bok choy and collard greens, sesame seeds (or pure powder for smoothie). Some other calcium containing food include figs, okra, broccoli, oranges, and chia seeds. Amaranth is said to have good amount of calcium and other useful minerals. I'm going to give it a try soon.
