@1gnforty1

Just diagnosed with mucosal melanoma in my nasal sinuses. Had surgery today to remove any other area.
Will start radiation and immunotherapy in 3 weeks. Not sure what questions to ask. All new to me.

@1gnforty1, as you probably already know mucosal melanoma is a rare and aggressive type of cancer that starts in mucosa (mucous membrane). It is common that, by the time it’s diagnosed, mucosal melanoma may have spread (metastasized).

It sounds like your team is being proactive to deal with spread by adding radiation and immunotherapy after surgery.

This can be overwhelming and you might not even know where to start with what questions to ask. Here are some of the things I would want to know more about to help you get started.

- Has the cancer spread beyond the nasal sinuses? If yes, where?
- What part of my body will receive radiation?
- How many treatments?
- What are the common side effects I should prepare for?
- What is the benefit of immunotherapy?
- Which immunotherapy medication will I have?
- What are the common side effects?
- What else do I need to know?

@1gnforty1 how is recovery from surgery going?
