Hanging lower? Different Position of my Package?

Posted by jayhall @jayhall, Feb 11 1:51pm

Last year after I started Alfuzosin I started to notice that I had to readjust my package more frequently and I seemed to have more scrotom than before. After my first biopsy I had to go get new underwear as I had worn out the support in my old underwear. Also I hang different than I had before. Today I'm battling some slight swelling left over from my recent biopsy and I've had to adjust myself about 10 times today. I have on my regular pants but my package looks like I put a tennis ball in my underwear. Has anyone else noticed this? Is this the beginning of permanent "moose knuckle"?

I don't recall getting moose knuckles from a biopsy but I wear boxers so it wouldn't have phased me - but considering the trauma happening in that area I'm not surprised at all.

Now after the catheter I can tell you that my flaccid self was more defined that before, but I had a prop holding it in place. I also know that a lot of men, after prostate radiation or surgery, experience serious shrinkage due to the shortening or trauma to the urethra, but it can can be corrected by using a pump. I was happy this was not an issue for me - bad enough to lose the ejaculate but adding insult to injury by shrinking things would have been devastating!

This is not normal at all. It is possible you could have an infection from the biopsy. You need to talk to your doctor about this.

I'm a bit less swollen today. I go for my results soon and if I'm still swollen I will discuss.

You don't mention your age but as men get older then the scrotum does tend to hang lower.

Has to be from the biopsy; alfuzosin just like Flomax and that has no scrotal indications.
What’s your PSA like on this medication? Do your numbers have to be adjusted higher to compensate for any effects it might have on your values?
