Thanks for your reply - his cough is both dry at times and productive at times. Glad to hear the albuterol stopped your cough. Did it make you feel jittery? Because he has the bronchiostatis the pulmonologist is only suggesting saline nebulizer and then the vest, but that hasn't helped him. He can try the albuterol tomorrow but a wondering if it makes one jittery. Thanks for your help!

No, not for me, but there is another similar bronchodilator that is supposed to have less side effects I think it’s called Levalbuterol. Maybe others can comment.

It does make me jittery, but I don't care as long as I can breathe. I don't have to use it much except for emergencies. If I keep my asthma in control, I cough a lot less. When I was little I was a wheezer but as I got older my asthma became a cough.
