Hello @flygirl1747 I am so sorry this is happening to you! I actually do know how stressful this can be. That being said, try to just breathe a bit, I like to take in a really deep breath and blow it out forcefully like I am blowing out the stress. Sadly sometime I require multiple breaths to calm a bit.
When you say radiologist, do you mean a radiology oncologist? This is the type of doctor that would coordinate your radiation treatments if that is what is being recommended.
I will say that even though I had a quite aggressive type of cancer, it was still eleven weeks from biopsy to first treatment, and that was when I still had a pretty great insurance and I had multiple doctors willing to see me.
Today there is a shortage of doctors and technicians all leading to longer wait times.
Please keep asking for any cancellation schedules, or referrals to get a sooner appointment, but please don’t panic. In terms of BC, seven weeks isn’t (always) significant, even if it feels like it to us.
Have you tried calling directly to the appointment coordinator to make your plea?
