Has anyone tried acupuncture for neuropathy?
I was just wondering if anyone has tried acupuncture for neuropathy. The balls of my feet and toes on both feet are affected. It’s no longer covered on my insurance plan so I have to pay out of pocket for the treatments. I was told I would need about 9 or 10. It would cost me about $1000. I’d like to hear if anyone has had success with this type of treatment. Thanks, Nancy Banks.

I underwent acupuncture twice a week for 11 months. The only positive response was, at first it seemed to help my balance. However, I tried acupuncture to relieve my night pains that prevented me from having enough sleep. I have had neuropathy for 14 or 13 years. I have not had a normal (5 to 8 hours) night sleep in that time. After trying only those meds prescribed by my doctor, I have come to realize that any help to get better sleep has to come from me. I have found a routine that helps me to some degree. Please do not spend money on homeopathic "meds" and/or "things" that promise to "cure" neuropathy. These things are only sold by modern day snake-oil salespeople. Try to stay as possible as possible and listen to your body during times of some relief.
I did with two different doctors. Did not work for me
Has anyone tried Acupuncture for Neuropathy pain? Results any good?
Mines of pain is gone from my hear-ends to the bottom of my feet, BUT will Acupuncture give my feeling on my right-foot? I wonder… Karen & me is for back and that doc (owner business, but not doctored pros) he can use Acupunchture that, maybe, less feeling in my right-foot. It kills my feeling and could fall-down I want it back!
I have peripheral neuropathy. I got it after chemo. I tried acupuncture for 6 months and did not see any difference. I was praying it would. I have not found anything that really helps. But we are all different . I have had it for over four and a half years. It seems to get worse all the time. I just have the numbness no pain. The only thing that seems to help is excerise. I go to the pool and the gym and take yoga. I hope this helps answer your question.
Hello @jadownard, I'm glad to hear that exercise, going to the gym and pool along with yoga has provided you with some relief from the neuropathy. I've mentioned this to my doctor a couple of times over the years, and he said that while it has worked for some people, it was always temporary. I'm not opposed to being stuck with needles, I'm heavily tattooed, but insurance won't cover it, and we can't afford it on our own.
I am using acupuncture for myofacial pain syndrome, coupled with PN. I understand it may take many, many sessions to see improvements in PN, so still too early to offer positive or negative feedback.
