Wow -- eight weeks before you're symptom-free. But you've got five of those eight weeks behind you, which is great! I have 1-2 wks before I'm totally off, although if I didn't have some events I can't get out of -- making presentations to high school seniors about the importance of voting and registering them to vote -- I'd pull off the band-aid at this point. I'm down to only 30 beads/day this week, feel some mild zaps, but they're bearable. However, I know I'm short-tempered and intolerant, and I don't want to make those tendencies worse by stopping now. And I definitely don't want to lose it during one of the events! Next week I only have one voting gig, so I may risk it. My book club will be meeting at my house, but they all know what's going on and are completely supportive and sympathetic. (Plus, they've seen me at my worst anyway!) I'm using low-dose melatonin at night -- usually it works and I don't feel groggy the next day. Your post really helped me a lot! Thank you, hang in there and best of luck!!!

I know you're tempted to just stop, but why make it any harder on yourself (and your loved ones and friends) than it has to be? Continue your taper on schedule; you're too close to your goal to risk worsening withdrawal effects, or even relapse. Re sleep--Ben*dryl also works.
