The shots in my shoulders were not painful at all. I didn’t even feel them, but that’s me. I had one in the bottom of my foot once that was. I suppose it varies. Everyone is different. My shoulders were so stiff, sore and painful, I would have endured a lot to get them better. The physical therapy that followed was painful. Omg…..but I pushed through to get my motion back,

@celia16, I did receive a steroid shot in the shoulder in the meantime, it was a good experience, it was mainly discomfort for 2 or 3 seconds or so, the orthopedic surgeon knew where to inject the needle, no pain afterwards, I had one session of physical therapy by now, it scares me not knowing if the pulling on my arm and kneading of my shoulder by the therapist could cause more harm- he says he has been a therapist for 30 years, which is not enough to calm me -
