I know exactly what are talking about. I’ve had the motor running since I was about your age, maybe a tad older. That’s when it started. To me it sounded like the air conditioning in the house was on. So I ignored it at first, until I realized it never went off, because it wasn’t on. The sound was in my head. I’m 69 now and still have that sound, plus others. I try to ignore it as much as I can. Everyone blames it on the ears, but my assessment of this is that it stems from neck and spinal issues. I was in several fender benders when I was younger and I have some other back issues. Nothing serious, but I believe the sounds come from whatever nerves are effected. You can tell it’s outside sounds you’re
hearing by plugging your ears with your fingers. The sounds are still there. It really is infuriating, but no one seems to know how to deal with them, except to ignore them or drown them out with louder sounds. If someone doesn’t have them, it’s impossible for them to understand. Stay well. Hopefully someone will figure this out.
