Surgery Recovery: How long was your recovery after lobectomy?

Hi all,
I'm new here. I am 52 year old women with anemia and a bit over weight. No other major health issues. I don't have a history if thyroid issues. I had a sub-cm nodule with Braf mutation removed last week. Still waiting on final pathology. I had a lobectomy with some lymph nodes on right and left side removed. I am much more tired than expected and very foggy brained. Mostly managing with Tylenol and a 5mg flexeril some nights before bed. I was expecting to be back to work 2 weeks out but I feel far from ready to go back to work in a few days 3-4 days. I have gone through a lot of the posts and I see recovery ranging from 2 to 6 weeks. I understand recovery is personal, but if people with similar stories could share their perspective on their recovery time and experience, I would appreciate it. Thank you!!

Good morning. It has been a few years since my surgery, but I do recall it took a couple of weeks before I had energy to do much. I had a complete thyroidectomy with node dissection and just recovering from the surgery took a while. Then you have the hormones and med adjustments that can take weeks or even months to get normalized. Fortunately, I was able to work from home during my recovery stage which helped. Not certain if this or even partial days is an option for your work. Ask your provider for a medical note if needed for your employer. Do be kind to yourself and patient with your healing process.

Thanks for the reply. I can work from home without issue, but my brain can't process the information. I have my own business so the brain fog is what is stressing me out. I wasn't prepared for that most of all.
