Upcoming Second biopsy: Nervous but better prepared this time

My second biopsy is soon. I'm a nervous wreck but otherwise okay. I'm better prepared this time than last time. I have some drugs for the colitis I know I will get from the massive amount of antibiotics. I have throw away underwear and night clothes. I'm stocking in some wet wipes for the bleeding etc. I have liquids to drink to stay hydrated for afterward and I have my plan to monitor for sepsis. I would appreciate good thoughts etc for me in the next day or so. I have learned so much since I joined this group. I know that if I do have prostate cancer it's beatable, treatable and I can make it through this. Next step after my biopsy is the treatment and management.

My VA Dr. referred me to a local hospital for an MRI. Had the MRI but the urologists left employment at the hospital. I was referred to the second hospital in town. This hospital doesn't have a resident urologists and depend on Dr.s coming from 100 miles away. They did a second MRI, after that I had a biopsy. I was scheduled for 8:00 am. Turns out the equipment didn't arrive with the Dr. I was wheeled into the room at 4:30pm. I was put out for the transperineal biopsy. When I woke up I was sent home. The trouble started when I had to pee. My rectal pain was so severe when I tried to relax that I couldn't go. A trip to the emergency room and a catheter. A day later the catheter stopped up and another trip to emergency to have the catheter removed. The urologists gave me a choice of radical surgery or beam radiation. I did some research and found TULSA PRO treatment 4 hrs. away. The local urologists had never heard of the TULSA procedure and he claimed he reads all the medical journals. My TULSA PRO procedure was not as painful or troublesome as the biopsy. It's inconvenient to have to drive 4 hours for treatment but for something as serious as cancer it pays to find a large cancer center that know what the latest treatments are.
