I finished treatment with Evenity last month after 12 monthly doses. Post treatment DEXA showed 12% increase in BMD at lumbar spine and 2%increase in BMD in total hip. T-score at lumbar spine went from -2.5 to -2.3 (osteoporotic to osteopenic). My rheumatologist recommended I take Prolia or Reclast within 3-4 weeks after completing the Evenity treatment to lock in the gains.I ended up taking Prolia because my Medicare Advantage plan removed Reclast from their formulary.
My only issues with Evenity were bruising and swelling at the injection site in each arm after each treatment and body aches and pains which have resolved with cessation.
My after insurance cost were $485 for each dose of Evenity (two injections) X 12 months for an out of pocket cost of $5820 for the drug and another $1200 or so for the administration fees. The Prolia injection was about $325 for the drug and $135 for cost of administration. Will have another Prolia injection in August.

ouch the cost...I have regular Medicare with a supplemental plan with AARP which cost 280/mo so $3,360. So there's that. However, I get the shot in my stomach which they pinch up the excess skin and give the injection. Every once in awhile there was a small amount of pain but nothing like with the first dose in the arms... ouch on that one too. Administration Fee? There was no admin fee for mine. I could see on the monthly statement some months it was a couple of thousand with zero co-pay. Anyway, I've finished now and everything is osteopenia now rather than osteoporosis which is some gains. Dr. has ordered reclast injection which I am researching that. Can't I just wait and see 'how it goes' after 6 months or a year? Also I have several dental implants which worry me

How many prolia injections will you take? I am in same protocol and have had 1 prolia injection so far. My Dr. plans for no more than 3-4 prolia followed by reclast infusion. I was hoping for a drug holiday and frankly request scares me.
