@susan7656 Thanks for your kind words! Update, I had my 4 week post op today and woohoo my nipples made it! He said they are attached and no worries they look great! He did have to remove some of the fluid from the right tissue expander because it was so uncomfortable for me, amazing the instant difference when he did that! I don’t need anymore fills so he said now we just let me heal for the next 2 months then we can do the exchange surgery to remove my expanders and put in my implants. This has been a tough 4 weeks.

@stars7 Thanks for updating us! Glad you had a good report from your surgeon.
That’s such a pick me up.

I have found that by getting engaged on this site, and offering encouragement to other patients when I can, it has expanded my compassion and literally helps me feel better.. And I’ve received encouragement in turn.

We are all in this cancer lane. Every piece of encouragement helps someone know they’re not alone.

I’m so scared of my next surgery. (Implants go in to replace expanders and I will need lipo of my stomach and legs. I’ve talked to patients who have had it. It’s very very painful.). I’m sure I will turn to this community for support. Maybe what I learn will help others in the future.

Well-meaning friends without cancer call me brave. I’m not brave. I’m determined. Just like the women who go through radiation, chemo, surgeries… they are digging deep and are strong. They are committed to life.

I feel like I’ve lived 80 lives since being diagnosed on Sept 27. But my life is richer.

When you’re feeling better, sign on and look for ways to help. Encouragement feels tangible to many of us. It’s the fuel to move us forward.

Wishing you improvement and discernment.
