I have CKD 3. Also hypothyroidism. I need to lose 15 lbs and used to do keto but I read low protein is best for CKD. I’m also a fussy eater and salads and cold veggies are out and no fruit. Wondering what to eat?

@fastln Welcome to Mayo Clinic Connect! I invite you to wander through this kidney and bladder support group, and notice the different conversations about diet. Realizing that each patient is different, and our dietary requirements might be a variation from what someone else can eat, I bet you will find some great pointers!

And I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but you may need to talk yourself into being less of a fussy eater! Salads, cold veggies and no fruit - is that part of a hypothyroidism regimen, or is it part of the fussy eating?
Ginger

I’m also a fussy eater. Unsweetened licorice won’t cut it. What else can we eat? I’m doing keto anyway because of my anemia (meat is required eating for functional purposes but it’s not a solution, gotta eat other stuff as well)

Likewise. I try to avoid raw, uncooked carrots.
