Karen, I am 80. I have been on vaginal estradiol cream for over 7 years. I relate to you. My orthopedic ordered a MRI on my hip and the radiologist saw a problem with my uterus. I had to have a biopsy of my uterus over 3 weeks ago and it was painful to say the least. I wasn't sedated but only some nitrous oxide. Dr. had to slice my uterus and boy did that hurt! I did receive my test result back and fortunately, no cancer. My gyn told me I could start using the vaginal cream again after the test results came back. I am told that the vaginal estradiol is safe but now I am afraid to use it at all! The past weeks were very long to get through with the waiting. I am afraid to use it again as if there is a next time, the test may not be negative. The estradiol cream helps me sleep however so I am tempted to use it. I am a poor sleeper. I hope you are on your feet with healing from the surgery. You have been through too much!

I am not recovering from surgery at the moment.
I was using VAGIFEM and I attribute the problem of post menopausal bleeding to that. So I stopped using it. ESTRIOL is a different form of estrogen that doesn’t affect the breasts. I ended up needing a hysterectomy. Anyway the estriol can be bought online in formulations provided they are USP meaning United States pharmacopeia. I am 82 now.
