Yes I have pain on my right side. I had it checked a while back and they said I did not have a hernia and in time it would heal but im 1 year out and still have it. I have a referral to a gastro dr to see what isoing on
Bill addressed his issue with the appointment with his GI doctor who said the pain was coming from the abdominal wall. The pain from the operation should go away but don't know the duration. I guess one of these days you'll notice that the pain is no longer there.

My husband (82) had this surgery 8/6 and the GI doctor said the pain in the abdomen wall will eventually go away but he did not say when. I guess everyone's case is different. It's been 5 months and the pain is still there. Not an easy operation for people in their 80's. Keep us posted.

Hi @nnai, I hope you saw the helpful posts from @lauramae3 and @pez01.
@nnai, did you recently get an ostomy? Have the stomach pains subsided or gone away? Did you talk to your ostomy nurse about it?
