I suggest you research the amount of melatonin you take. It appears you are taking an excessive amount, whereas the most recent research I have read indicates less than 1 mg is adequate and better. You may try a slow release form that may help throughout the night.

I take one 3mg melatonin sublingual and seems to do the trick .....takes about an hour to slowly kick in.......doesn't knock me out, just lulls me to sleep...
