Many years ago, I was put on Vicodin for chronic pain. I know why people get addicted and I know why opioids have a bad name. For me that stuff was terrible. I was put on a couple other things that also were addictive feeling. Finally, I was put on the Percocet And that worked 100% for me. I would break up the pills into quarters. I found the lowest dose that knocked out the pain. As 2025 years have gone by I’ve only gone from a quarter pill to a half a pill. I have gone from two quarter pills pills to 3 half pills each day to manage my pain as my degenerative condition has gotten worse over the years. I also use a variety of topicals. Once in a great while, THC is the answer, I don’t like that feeling of being high or out of control, but it does relax my entire body when it feels like I’m nothing more than a bag of bones. At night. It has been particularly cold where I live here in San Diego and the dramatic change between dry to damp really does me in. The key is finding the right medication’s and taking the lowest dose possible, exercising to keep your strength, self massage, a diet, low and sugar, and a good team of doctors around you who support an aging body and its problems.

I totally agree with you. Same issues, and I’m handling it by doing what you suggest.
