4mgs? Zometa is usually given in a 15 minute infusion. Given this is your first dose you might ask for a longer infusion 30min or an hour. This instruction should be written from your physician to the center. It is best to be well hydrated. Tylenol and an antihistimine like clarityn are good to have on hand. Some take the medication before the infusion as some people have an immediate reaction, but it is more usual for the onset to be after 6 hours or so. It's like a flu and can last several days. But, I hope you don't have any reaction. The longer infusion is easier on your kidneys. Fingers crossed for luck
