Anyone taking a CDK4/6 inhibitor?
Hi there, I have been advised to take CDK 4/6 INHIBITOR together with Aromatase Inhibitor for stage 4 Breast cancer with Osteoporosis.
Does anyone have any knowledge or experience with this?? Thanks in advance for any responses.

Thank you for your reply. I believe there is probably a connection also. I was diagnosed with the PNET via EUS last March and on the subsequent CT in April the PNET was not visible but the breast cancer tumor was visible as an incidental finding.( I had a mammogram in January of last year because a rash I noticed and pain in my breast. That mammogram showed nothing). I also found a tiny basal cell cancer on my calf in August which was removed by MOHRS surgery 2 weeks prior to my lumpectomy in September. So, all of this was a shock because it happened within one year’s time.
My PNET is on watch and wait. The breast cancer is the one I am most concerned about. They conducted genetic testing for the breast cancer and the PNET and I do not have the genomic markers for those.
It is a mystery but I do believe there is some set of explanation.
Hello
Was you MBC to liver found out in PET scan ?
I had PET Scan done and something lit up on my pet scan in liver . But nothing showed up on the CT scan .
Hi, Here is my experience so far. I have stage 3 ILC, pre-diebetes, and with osteoporosis. I started anastrozole Jan 2024 when diagnosed with ILC. I had lumpectomy and radiation in July/Sept. I started in Dec 2024 on Verzenio at 50 mg twice daily. I have stiff joints from the anastrozole. I try to walk daily with a weighted vest to mitigate my osteoporosis and joint pains. Verzenio lowers my white blood counts, but still ok. I had only one episode of diaherria in the beginning, none since. My hair is thinning. So far, all this is manageable. Will update any changes. I know this is scary and many difficult decisions have to be made. I was told that CDK 4/6 is effective at the lower dosage. You might want to ask for that if you decide to go on them. Good luck!
For me it was tumor markers were very high did a CT scan and was confirmed with a biopsy
I have been taking Ribociclib since May of 2024. I also take it with Letrozole. My oncologist says it is an effective drug combination. It shrunk my tumor so I was given the go signal to have a unilateral mastectomy in Nov of 2024. I will continue to take it till April. Bloodwork and PET SCan to follow. Side effects of Ribociclib- hair and eyebrow thinning, diarrhea and itchiness. The effects have tapered off. But fatigue has always been present.
