Thanks again heavyphil. I realize that permanent seed Brachytherapy has fallen out of favor. However, my research tells me that it has comparable cure rates and fewer side effects than other radiation protocols. Everything is dependent on the skill of the operator performing the procedure and unfortunately they seem to be few and far between. Dr. Steven Kurtzman’s practice in California performs hundreds of these year and over 7000 all time. He has a partner who is also proficient and indicates people can typically be scheduled for the outpatient procedure within 3 weeks of a consultation.
