My response is that you are making assumptions about side effects and the negative thoughts may make it difficult to proceed with meaningful treatment. This is not to say that there are not people who have problematic side effects from some medications in general not just osteoporosis meds.
I am one of, I think, the majority of people who have mild or no meaningful side effects.
I have been taking these medications for years. Here is what I have used:
Fosomax for 5 years ...a bit of heart burn.
Forteo for two years with no noticeable side effects
Evenity for one year,.no noticeable side effects
Prolia (one shot)..no noticeable side effects
Read everything you can on this site, do your research, make sure that your endocrinologist has extensive experience with osteoporosis and training.
I was more concerned about fractures.
Also, the current thinking about medication sequencing for most people is to start with an anabolic like tymlos, forteo or evenity.
