Neuropathy and Cortizone injections for frozen shoulder

Posted by sturner62 @sturner62, Nov 17, 2024

My left shoulder got real stiff. Probably from playing pickle ball went to my primary care physician he recommended physical therapy. I went there and they think it’s either a torn rotator cuff or frozen shoulder. Had treatments for five weeks. Doesn’t really seem to be getting any better went to an orthopedic had an x-ray. They gave me some motion tests on my arm and said with a reasonable degree of certainty It is frozen shoulder Classic symptoms I didn’t have an MRI which I feel I should have anyways I was told that I should have a Cortizone steroid shot in my shoulder and then continue with physical therapy I have very occasional bouts of a fib and was worried about that, but my cardiologist said it shouldn’t affect that, but I also have neuropathy symptoms all over my body. Tingling in my face tingling in my hands in my feet in my legs and muscle spasms feels like nerves twitching my muscles anyways has anybody had any experiences with this? anybody had steroid injections for frozen shoulder with neuropathy kind of makes me nervous getting the shot with the conditions I have. I don’t wanna make it worse.

From personal experience: If the frozen shoulder is not torn, I believe you might have a virus. Went to a Chiropractor and he did laser light therapy on the frozen shoulder which helped somewhat. Symptoms lasted two years of "hell on earth". Then a couple of years later got the frozen shoulder on the opposite side. Took 12.5 mg of iodine along with 500 mg of lysine in the morning and 500 mg of lysine later in the day. The pain from the frozen shoulder went away in three weeks however the shoulder was still frozen (but without pain). Had to work the "frozen" shoulder out over time but completely recovered. A Physical Therapist said I had a miracle.

By now, I am sure you have done something about this. It would be good to hear about your healing process and choices. I had a frozen shoulder in 2013/14, shortly after my neuropathy began, along with other neurological health issues. I tried cortisone shots and PT for over a year, but my shoulder mobility and pain did not improve at all. I ended up having surgery, which improved my range of motion, but it took a couple more years of PT to get close to normal, then another couple of years of PT for the nerve pain to end and to regain full mobility.

You mentioned "nerve pain". Please try a trial of the lysine and iodine for about a week. You have nothing to loose except the pain. These substances are naturally found in your body.
