2.5 yrs post op(MRI’s reveal 2 new brain tumors
I was wondering if anyone who has had a mengioma, had a gluoblastoma?
Dr found 2 new tumors…been waiting 4months to see if benign or not. First one was rather large mengioma and was resected as it was 7cm. Was removed rather quickly & my symptoms disappeared almost instantly with no physical defects except blood sugar A1C was over 15 due to steroids. I’m nervous and I am asking how common would it be to have a glioblastoma after a mengioma? One tumor is in same location as prior tumor so maybe a residual tumor but another on other side. Both are frontal. Original was on right side.

Wow! That is an impressive MRI. You are so strong! I had one resected in August. I do not have an answer for your question, but wish you the best! Hope everything comes out perfectly!
My husband had a meningioma removed surgically in 2015 with no complications. He now has Glioblastoma but it is in an entirely different place in his brain and is unrelated to the meningioma. Just bad luck. Plus he is 87, and a long life means sometimes bad things ultimately come to be.
His Glioblastoma has been treated rather successfully in terms of tumor reduction. Side effects of treatment are significant but he has had some quality and quantity of life added.
Hi! My husband is also 2.5 years post op and we found out last month another tumor grew back. Same type, different location. I don't know if this will help but he just finished cyberknife treatment to "kill" the tumor last week. It was successful and side effects were minimal.
