Tymlos vs. Evenity

@4deborahrb

I took Tymlos for 4 months and had to stop due to severe nausea and low blood pressure. I switched to Evenity and was fine for the first 2-3 injections. My next injection is in a week and I’ve been experiencing the nausea and dizziness with standing (orthostatic hypotension) again. Not as bad as when on Tymlos but it’s definitely there. Anyone know if there are any similar ingredients? Anyone else having nausea with Evenity? You just can’t win with these drugs… and now I have to have a tooth pulled too. I will not be stopping the medication per advice from doctors and this support group but I’m concerned with osteonecrosis of the jaw.

@4deborahrb did you try going down on the dose for Tymlos? Many of us have managed to tolerate it by going down on the dose (I went down to 1/4 dose) and then slowly titrating up. I got up to 7/8 dose and had excellent gains. Some take even less. Dosing is done with "clicks" on the pen so it is adjustable.

If you need a tooth pulled, my doctor would have you wait two months after the last Evenity but you could again be on Tymlos at a lower dose at some point determined by your doctor, possibly 1-2 months after the last Evenity.

These two meds, Tymlos and Evenity, have very different mechanisms and ingredients.
