I ageee with everything Hercules said in their post. I'm a patient at Mayo and have been very impressed with their care and capabilities. That being said, I got a written 2nd opinion from Cleveland clinic within a few days of submitting my records to them. I'm going to Cleveland at the end of this month for more testing and will be meeting with a surgeon there. It gives me peace of mind knowing that I've got lot's really smart people looking at this. I'm not sure what I will do if the Cleveland Clinic ends up disagreeing with Mayo on timing.... but I feel better tapping into experts for advice.
Thanks for your thoughtful response...
It is true that once an aneurysms been diagnosed, it is hard to not be hyper focused on your condition.
Mayo so far has been proactive and we are waiting for the genetic testing to be done.
If he does have an identified genetic disorder, then we will ask for a surgical consult ASAP.
I'm open to getting a surgical second opinion ....of course my husband will need to commit to that as well.
Thanks for your good wishes!
