Gas antone got calcification of lymphs and thymus? What haooened. I am 4 years post thyroidectomy.
Chances that you have papillary cancer is too high not to have full thyroidectomy. They thought only one side right but passing carotid arteroes scan around, one surgeon said a bit in left.

I have papillary as well but it got into lymph nodes. One node initially in center neck and 11 months later right side. Right neck disection removing 45 lymph nodes. Five nodes malignant in sections 2, 3 and 4. No variant has been given. Cancer center said I am not high, but higher risk for recurrence. Not sure what that means. They told me to ask my doctor in March at my appointment. I am going to Barnes for a second opinion and treatment options. I don't want to keep doing RAI and surgery. Those are the only options I have been given. Feeling frustrated.
They took 41 lymph nodes, 5 had metastasis. Drain behind ear. Two nodules against jugular. They opened me up along right side for good visibility of nerves and arteries. Slight damage to jugular. They used a clip, no issues with bleeding. I attached photo of incision.
