I know how difficult it is to do that, I have and still do the same thing, it’s like you’re on a rollercoaster. I really don’t think it’s a drug you can take on and off but I’m sure that there are people who can, when I try to use it on and off I suffer on the off day…basically you’re going through withdrawal every time you do. I believe they’re an all or nothing drug, I started taking them this way in the beginning before the dependency really kicked in but sadly it didn’t last and eventually you need them more and more, in some cases people increase their dose and it takes more to feel relief. I compare this to alcohol usage, it starts out small but as your body becomes used to it, the need begins to increase, there are people who don’t have any problem with addiction and they are able to start and stop whenever they want, I envy them and people like me should never start but that’s easier said than done.

I so agree that I wish I didn’t NEED meds to keep me going. I have developed a tolerance but am content to stay on the prescribed dose, because it helps my symptoms.
My entire family has addictive traits…..very hereditary in our family.
I wish I could be like my husband and have only one drink and not want more.
