I have a 7-8 inch incision on the right side of my neck starting behind my ear and curving down towards the front base of my neck. It is starting to fade a little already (3 1/2 weeks post surgery). The removed 45 lymph nodes in which 5 showed metastasis in levels 2, 3 and 4. Dr wants to do another round of RAI at a higher dose. No other options given. Cancer center stated I am not high risk, but higher risk of another recurrence (whatever that means). I am getting a second opinion. Won't see endocrinologist until end of March. Want me to do RAI in April or May.
No, full right. I have a 6-7 inch cut from behind my ear going down my neck. My thyroid and center neck disection was tiny. It is about 2 to 2.5 inches in the front.
