I was diagnosed with microscopic colitis about 3 years ago. Budesonide helped cause remission for about a year, but since then I have had bouts of the runs and have unable to get off the drug. Then, reading about sertraline's effect on the digestive system over Christmas, I vowed to never take Sertraline again without having breakfast first. So far, it's like a miracle has happened. I'm in the process of trying to wean myself off budesonide again and I'm not having any close calls! Happiness! It's only been 4 weeks but I couldn't wait to share this with you!

So happy to hear this good news! Please keep us posted.

I doubt it has anything to do with eating beforehand, since I take it at night after eating a large meal. However, my symptoms began after taking a generic for about a decade and immediately after switching to mail order and receiving a different generic brand the symptoms came on full force. Just received the diagnosis of lymphocytic colitis. I am curious as to whether any of the studies factored in the brand(s) of sertraline which patients had been prescribed.
