Every doctor treating patients with chronic pain should read this

This article is an excellent description of what it's like to live with chronic pain and current research and potential treatments. I would welcome thoughts and comments.

@meryw I just came across this link from another thread I. mayo Connect on Pain management, and it opened for me - it’s the same article from NY Times that @kdks99 has posted above but shared by someone else from another publication …?

I sent the article to my doctor and she said it will take several years before it is approved in Canada.

I think it will be approved in the states by 1/30/25. A family member who does research for the NIH reviewed the data and said it looks promising. I know there are always unanticipated risks associated with any new drug, but these are risks I will take in this instance. I will report back here or message you once it becomes available and I try it. If it works, it may well be worth a trip.

I just checked about when after posting the previous comment. FYI.... "If suzetrigine is approved by the FDA on January 30, 2025, it could potentially become available in the US shortly after that date; however, the exact availability date will depend on the pharmaceutical company's distribution and pharmacy stocking processes, which could take a few weeks following approval."
